If it were me...

I wouldn't rush to put the socks back on. If your wife is anything like mine, then putting some cloth on those "monstrosities" isn't going to appease her aesthetic sense.
I would also exteriorize the crossover with the thought of biamping in the future. The nice thing about exteriorizing the crossover, even if you just take the stock parts out and put them in the new box, is that you can take your time replacing components as your budget allows.
I would look to replace the caps (Obbligato's are a good bang for the buck), especially on the tweeter circuit, and also think about getting some Duelund resistors. The Duelunds are a bit expensive but they will be needed even if you decide to biamp later on.
Of course the fuses and attenuator sockets should go, especially if you have an amp that will drive these babies properly. I would also get 10uH inductors to place in series with the tweeter. You also might think about replacing the wiring, I like magnet wire but there are plenty of posts in the archives with other suggestions.
