Given sensitive enough instruments, of course it'll work. But can it be made to work at home?
Another question. Will you be able to tell the direction of the waves? Will the direction of the laser hitting the surface effect what you see?
As good as all the theories of panel vibration are and what does and doesn't happen, nothing can beat some real data.
