I'm wondering if all of you can help me a bit. Here is my equipment:Amp: Pass Labs 250x
Preamp: Pass Labs X1
Speakers: Maggie 1.6 with external crossover, and REL Strata III subProblem: For a while, I've heard a low level static from the REL sub when it was turned on, but never when playing music. Tonight, for the first time, I hear this low level static from the maggies as well, and it is noticeable, and I can even hear some when playing music. I've tried a few things:
CD player and DAC off: still static
Preamp: regardless of volume level, still static; turned off, still static. Static does not increase in volume regardless of the preamp volume.
Amp off: no static through maggies, but still static through subwoofer
Subwoofer: disconnect it from amp, but leave on: still static in the suboofer
Unplug subwoofer: all static seems to disappearSo, am I correct in concluding that the subwoofer is somehow feeding back through the amp to the maggies? Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
I can send the amp within the Strata III back to Sumiko, but just curious what the rest of you think. Many thanks for your input and insight.
