Actually what you describe would be the way to do it if one were using a simple stereo preamp with one stereo output.
If you are using an A/V processor, I would sent the LFE signal to the Behringer, then Rythmik. The Rythmik amp gives a switchable option to be used in series with an upstream HT crossover. Set the mains for whatever would be best (usually Large or full range isn't, better to high pass them at 80 hz. or so), and send that L/R output to your mains amp.
The Behringer XLR I/Os are what they call servo balanced. Which means you can make special XLR to RCA cables for unbalanced connections, if you don't want to use the 1/4" phono plugs.
So you could use one of those cables from an unbalanced A/V unit to the Behr, then XLR x XLR to the Rythmik. If your stuff is all balanced, then you’re good too.
