Yeah, that tradeoff -- between the cleanliness of stats and the superior dynamics and bass of planars -- is the classic one. As you say, everyone has to make their own decision based on the sonic attributes they value. Though if you have lots of money & can buy huge stats or 20.1's with their true ribbon tweeters and push-pull midrange, the differences start to narrow.
