FWIW, I have a similar situation (center French Doors, a window behind each speaker). I have a drapes which cover the entire wall and it works pretty well. Even opening the drapes just for the center doors gives me an edgy sound. I believe most people recommend diffusion rather than absorption but it is not possible in my case. That is one of the reasons I hope to build a dedicated room. I get quite good sound-staging with my current set-up but YMMV. Good luck on finding a solution.
