I bought a hardly used one from a fellow Inmate for a good price sometime ago. Just got a fresh bottle of cleaner.

I'm impressed by the quantity of gunk removed from the grooves. It does settle to the bottom, as advertised. I tried a Japanese pressing of Bitches Brew that had been cleaned using the LAST Power Cleaner but remained a bit noisy. The Spin-Clean seemed to help somewhat.

I also tried a filthy record that had cost me less than $3, no jacket, just an inner sleeve. After cleaning, it was a mess. Obvious groove damage. It only cleans the grooves. Damage is damage.

All in all, a worthy addition to my initial cleaning "ritual." I intend to clean all of my records using the machine. I don't have a large collection, so I can do it without much trouble. It'll be worth it.

Use it with L'Art du Son cleaning fluid which can be found on Sound Approach's website (titled as Shellac cleaner).

It leaves the LP sounding completely free of any debris. At least 3 x better than the stock cleaning fluid.

I've heard of doing so, and I've been considering it. It's not cheap, and I don't have THOSE many records to clean. However, it does have me wondering "what if my records could be even quieter than they are?" This could turn into an obsession for $45.

Have you tried it?

This is getting interesting...

What's your procedure?

Just follow the instructions on the bottle. Very easy.

"At least 3x better than the stock cleaning fluid."

Yes, L'art du son is known to be an excellent record cleaner. But how can you possibly justify the above comment. We both know there's no way you can prove that it's 3x better than the stock solution. Why not 2x better or 4x better? This what I hate about these forums. People exaggerate consistently just to prove their point. Wouldn't it have been better and more truthful to just say that L'art du son is an excellent solution with consistently superb reviews in the audio community without resorting to hyperbole?

I would put an LP through a cleaning 3-4 times before I was okay with how clean it was. With L'Art du Son one cleaning is plenty for most LPs to sound pristine - better than 3-4 cleanings with the stock fluid.
Why not try it? It's worth bursting your rant bubble over.

Thanks for the helpful advice but I have a Degritter ultrasonic which is 6.5x better than your method! And you don't even have to be in the room when it performs this miracle.

Better? I'd like to hear how it can be better than the zero noise I experience with what I have. Mine is probably quiter, making it so I don't have to leave the room.
