Hi Everyone,

Mainly using a Panasonic strain gauge, I'm continuing my cartridge experiments on a backup arm for older records. Now I am trying an Empire 108. The one I found does not have the screw that attaches the stylus to the cartridge. Does anyone know the size and threads of that screw? Thanks a lot.

David

I imagine that's a pretty small hole for this technique, but it is often possible , with bigger stuff, to press in kneaded rubber, sold as art erasers, into the hole, get an impression of the threads , and although it might distort a bit upon removal , it tends to spring back into the impression created from one side of the hole. one can then take that impression, along with an impression of the opening, down to the itty bitty screw store and try to match up the thread pitch.

Good luck , anything built by man can be fixed by man, somehow.

Thanks. Believe it or not, my question was actually answered by...-Open AI. It could not cite documents or tell me of other cartridges that use the screw. However, it was somehow correct that the screw is 2-56!
