Read the descriptions of the items he's selling......

Never thought I'd encounter stuff like this personally.

Not sure what the controversy is? He might have had a few unpleasant experiences with buyers from Israel. I'd rather not ship to Canada if I can avoid it.

Did you ask him his reason? May have had bad experience with Isreali post. nt, posted on February 1, 2019 at 13:17:07

The seller is from Malaysia which ought to set off alarm bells with regard to many Muslim-majority nations refusal to recognize Israel and its right to exist.

I run a Pack & Ship center, shipping things via UPS and FedEx.

I mostly refuse to send anything but documents to Canada, Mexico, and a few other countries - Israel is on that list.

When I DO ship documents to those countries, it is FedEx only.

The last time I ordered from an American inmate, he was furious when I called him out for charging me double the actual shipping cost for a cartridge in a tiny box. We Canadians can be so friggin' unreasonable. All I can do is roll my eyes at guys like you. Enlightenment isn't a dominant American trait, is it?

as an ebay seller and having had a failed delivery to Israel I can understand his reluctance, chances are he lost both his product and shipping cost and had to refund the buyer, who may have not wanted to pay the import duty. his political or humanitarian views may not come in to it.

just pity the Palestinians...-...-.

I believe the truth is that he CAN"T ship to Israel from Malaysia as the post office there will not accept mail being sent to that country.

Kind of like the US boycott of Cuba!

Well, I live in Israel. The mail here is so horrendous that I simply don't ever try to use it, or expect anything shipped that way to arrive. Fedex is far better but there are issues with Fedex as well; I have had them fail to deliver because they insist on calling first and did not call the correct number. I have also had customs open packages and re-pack them so badly that items were broken. I once had a small headphone amp shipped here which never arrived; the seller now says on his site that he won't ship to Israel. I do not blame him, especially since mine wasn't the only such experience.

I also occasionally do business with some (very nice :)) sellers of mineral specimens in Pakistan and am aware that they are not allowed to ship to Israel, so when I order from them I use a US shipping address. Malaysians may face the same kind of restriction, I don't know.

It reminds me of my misfortune: I purchased a vintage Pioneer turntable from a UK seller. It was packed well (or, rather, overpacked - it was wrapped too tightly with a packing tape, and the seller used, instead of foam plastic, empty bobbins (reels) from the adhesive packing tape, one of which was 1mm higher than others, and so the tension between the dust cover and that empty reel was so tight that the dust cover cracked.
If I open a dispute with PayPal, I will have to pay the shipping cost equal to the price of the turntable. When I sent my complaint to the seller, he answered that the deck was packed very well and he could dance on it and nothing bad would happen (!). He said that he'd packed lots of turntable in the same manner and all of them arrived safely. Instead of admitting his mistake or ommission, he said he would never send anything to my country and will even reflect in on his web site. I answered that all international couriers are the same and there have been many complaints against UPS and other carriers worldwide. It is called "blame shifting" - he offers false arguments and does everything to avoid paying adequate compensation. His letters imply "Don't teach me how to pack things - I know better."
