Wow, an in depth view into jazz guitar and it's history as seen by the player that is one year older than me, not that I play. i have been a fan of his playing and SOME of his singing since I first heard him.

That's just a wonderful interview. It's long, I watched it over three sessions since it is over an hour, but he is just a terrific raconteur with a great memory. I am astonished what a humble guy he is and just so approachable.

During 1969 to about 1972 I saw him whenever he played at the Jazz Workshop in Boston. My friend Charley had a big Chevy sedan and he always drove a bunch of us from NH to the club. I was always impressed by how tasteful his playing was and what a great "energy" he projected by his personality and his playing.

This was all before he became a commercial success with albums like "Breezin'" and "In Flight." I don't remember him singing at the Jazz Workshop, but he later became as famous for his vocals as for his guitar playing.

Thanks for recommending the interview; I loved it.
