Zen and the art of vinyl cleaning

I only have heating in the living room so in the winter it's chilly in the kitchen. Spring is here so today was my first cleaning session of the year. Two hours of just me and my Okki Nokki RCM. For me it's almost like meditation, Zen, whatever. And then the glorious sound of clean records!

I was aware of the benefits of clean records, but only ever did the least amount of cleaning necessary

I stuck with the old dishwasher stuff, and saw the various automated cleaning machines as just variations on the theme of hand washing that I was already doing, hands, just at a higher cost and level of involvement. it was still just fluid and brushes , automated.

thank goodness for the adaption of ultrasonic cleaning, to the task. I now saw clearly improved results through better technology. So I sprung for an automatic cleaning machine. I have now changed my evil ways, and my new cartridge tip will be the first to benefit.

I agree about the joy of clean LPs. For me the means is a DeGritter and between clean records and the Replicant 100 stylus of my Ortofon cartridge ticks and pops are a thing of the past.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
