My line has this buzzing noise when I tested it with Trifield line EMI monitor. An electrician came by to check it out. He found no ground loop, short or other issue on my line and said it's normal. I got a PS PowerPlant with some improvement on the readings but it's still buzzing. So is the buzz really normal? Thanks.
no but can if using tube preamps and amps that are not properly grounded, not a loop just having it grounded.
Line THD % went from 4% to 0% with less noise measurements but it's still buzzing.
I test my system with the same meter, it was reading over a hundred also.
I unplugged each piece of equipment until I found the culprit. For a while I thought it was the power cable feeding my Sony cd player, but it turned out to be my expensive Torus conditioner.
I replaced it with one of my Brickwalls and the reading dropped to 25, and hasn't moved.
Don't worry about the buzz, just get the reading below 50.
I tested nearly every outlet in the house. The quietest outlet still reads 80-ish. I'm not sure if the EV chargers at my neighbors' houses are causing the elevated line noise level. Maybe I just have to live with it.
sounds like you need to either get Solar with a battery - the Inverters provide some very nice regulation, and should be quieter-
Otherwise a regenerative Power conditioner-
there is something in the wiring of your home that is noisy.
This could be coming from many different sources - including the transformer down or up the line from your house...
Happy Listening
Depending on the age of your house wiring, it could be anything. A dedicated line could help if you don't already have one for the system.
