I have 2 red 39k resistors in my 845 tube power amp that I believe are 1/2 watt but I can't decipher the lettering on the resistor body.Photo attached if anyone can help.It is a Chinese amp.Not sure if the red body means anything. 1cm in length.

Physical size means little these days. Back in the days of carbon comps, it did, but power ratings and size have little relationship now. Just look at resistors in Digi-Key or Mouser for instance.
Looks like the top and bottom resistors have seen some heat - and the top one bears "39K", when the PCB says "36K" ~8& delta...
I have been away from the resistor nomenclature for too long to help otherwise...
