  This balum is marked with an arrow going from 300 ohm side to 75 ohm side. So it doesn't work any differently using it to go from a 75 ohm coaxial leading from my antenna to the 300 ohm side leading to my tuner.

    it should work fine.

    As far as compatibility of fittings... well... there are always clip leads!
    I am a big fan. ;)

    In seriousness, one can get clever (or desperate , as the case may be) and MacGyver adaptor(s) ad hoc . For example, a straightened paperclip can fit the center connector ('hole') on a female F-connector pretty darned well. Do NOT ask my how I know this! ;)
