Is back in the main system after a few years of not using it due to the Stereo Mode not working. Every once in awhile it would engage and work for a few mins and then go off.
I took it out of it's box last week and put in the system and asked for help over on AK and I had posted there when I first got it. Since the stations were coming in Strong and Clear, I figured it had to be something that was slightly out and no alignment was needed.
I was instructed to go look at the 228KHz and sure enough, it was out. Measured 225KHz. Adjusted it to 228KHz and now I have stereo mode on all the stations that should have it on.
Now, after I did the upgrades to the PS and Audio section a few years back I'm finally getting a chance to hear what I did and how nice it sounds now.
I'm listening to stations here in SD and in LA. I even get that KUSC College station that's about 125 miles from me along with KJAZZ from UC Long Beach.

Nice.
much prettier than the MR-77 I had. Even though it was tuned up by a Mc certified tech, I was never thrilled with the sound.
Sold it eventually, but then United Pulverizing Service did their job and it arrived to the buyer pretty well smashed up...
Sounds like you have a great antenna as well as a wonderful tuner!
I just swaped my Main for my back-up MR-74
Now to get the Main unit re-aligned...
Happy Listening
I don't remember the model number (he can advise if curious). It was an inexpensive but recommended model from RatShack. I couldn't install it at my condo there but got it expecting to move. But then moving to another condo I couldn't install it here either. So I'm glad it works so well for Cougar.
I lived further north than him and very close to the coast. So it was pretty much over water for me to LA. I had a simple car antenna hidden in a stair well and could receive several LA stations.
Reception/selection is poor here so I hardly bother with FM. Too bad, my Denon tuner has good sonics.

Yeah, I got the Antenna from fellow member M3 lover (Big Thank You to him) before he moved back to Mich or I don't think I would be getting these Stations up in LA. It works great and have a rotor to point it in the correct direction/s. I will soon be replacing the Mask to add a higher one than the one I have now. I will have a clear shot from my roof to Long Beach over the ocean due to the curvature of the coast.
I'm sure Timbo in Oz would approve.

125 miles! Impressive. Thanks for sharing your result.
I use the "FM Fool" calculator and that what it comes up with. I get most of the station in the 121-125 in LA, plus the others in between.
