  The sandblasted numbers in the top photo point towards Amperex USA as the maker. 1st digit is year, next 2 is week (46th week of 1963?)
  
  If it is made by them, there will likely be a 2-line code acid-etched into the side near the base. A magnifying-glass and lit from the right angle will help. If it has a * in the code, it was made in Hicksville, NY.
