I'm looking for a budget (ie. cheap) power amp for a computer system for general listening of music, video feeds, and maybe video editing.
I have an iMac computer and I'm considering using the analogue mini jack output from it to feed a power amp to drive JBL Control One mini monitors, that I own. The iMacs volume and EQ will control the feed to the power amp. The Crown XLS 1000 looks cheap enough though it has more power than I need. What would you consider that is cheap and capable for this application?

This will work fine and do exactly what you need it to do
Dayton Class T amp from partsexpress
That looks like a good one.

Beware of fan-cooled power amps, you will probably hear the fan. I use an Alesis RA500. Heatsinks only and 250 watts into 4 ohms and about the same price on ebay (now discontinued)I paid $260 a few years ago and it's very quiet and powerful.
It's in the sales flyer I git by snail mail last week - PHONE them
Parts express is clearing repack chip amps ...fpr $50!
I don't see these $50 amps. Am I missing something?
