I still listen to the Pogues. When Rum Sodomy and the Lash came out, I bought the LP and played it on repeat and I still love it, every song. Every Christmas, Fairy Tale of New York plays and I never tire of it. I've got every Pogues record and compilations and Shane's solo albums, and I watched the movie about him last year. He was 65.

Before the Pogues, there was Planxty. A true super group. I listened to their albums incessantly. I was primed for the energy of the Pogues when it showed up, punk and Irish music just fit together. The tradition goes on. Last summer, I saw the Mary Wallopers on the BBC Glastonbury broadcast.
