How about over a year on and off and thousands of dollars putting together an everything-done-right turntable and after all that I like the sound of my little Thorens better...
this is the sort of thing that gives tweaks a bad name
none the less, I feel qualified to post in this forum.

yeah, I thought it might just be me.

The photos in the freezer tweak requires two, count em, two photos. That's how I know you're lying. No offense.
"That's how I know you're lying."
You owe me an apology for that. Especially since it's a public accusation. I am a truth teller.
I like public accusations the best.
I see. And I've changed my mind. Perhaps I am not qualified to post in the iso ward.
Did you just take a smart pill?
"Did you just take a smart pill?"
Nope, I just avoid the stupid pills... usually. No offense.
That is very hurtful.
that might help you
Didn't do a thing for me at first blush. However, I did later find out that when placed properly (albeit not in the manner originally intended) they did eliminate nearly all of the acoustic picket fencing troubles in my room at the time.
So, in the final dust-off...not a compleat waste of time.

1. Turning one or more cones points up.
2. Closing your eyes when listening to music.
3. Cupping your hands behind your ears for rooms with very good dynamic range. This tweak does work however for bad rooms and for low volume listening.
4. The Green Pen doesn't work for Mercury Living Presence CDs, but Red markers do work. For most CDs the Green Pen should be fine. No one knows why the Green Pen doesn't work for Mercury CDs, all guesses will be accepted.
20 years ago, a friend brought some cones round and we tried them each way up and pick'n'mix.
Now, up and down definitely sounded different, and just possibly the mixed versions were in between.
But wine might have had something to do with it.
On a good system with good cones like DH Cones results are repeatable and transferrable. All points down is best by far. No contest. Of course there's a perfectly god reason why this is so, the pints down allows excess energy to ESCAPE DOWN OUT of the system whereas points up allows energy to be transmitted UP TO the system. I.e., cones act as mechanical diodes. The hardness of the cones improves the way they operate, this steel and NASA grade ceramics work better than softer materials like brass, aluminum and carbon fiber.

Lead, SONEX room panels and ERS anti RF whatever cloth.
applied a thick layer of silicone goo caulking material to the underside of the platter of my CS-509 turntable, trying to dampen microphoics.
Couldn't hear the slightest difference and made a complete mess of the turntable.
sex after 70 is like trying to play pool with a rope
Froze plastic twist-ties overnight.
Then attached them to rain spouts around the outside of my house.
The instructions said, "then listen to your stereo."
I did.
It totally worked.
Thing is, it worked before too.
No wonder. You were supposed to listen to the drainpipes. Hel-loo!
Hel-loo! geoff.

My spectrum email must still be messed up. Did you try sending a direct email to suekraft@new.rr.com?
Made my system sound worse, right before I ran out of the room screaming.
Slowed down the sound quite a bit.
Talk about Delay....!

Have you tried the crystals in a different location?
Not going anywhere.
Di-lithium sound the best.

The one where I had to take a Polaroid of myself bathing in a bathtub full of Diane St. Clair butter and then afterward place the photo in my freezer.
The butter alone cost over $18,000.00.
I mean what was I thinking (should have used the smaller tub in the spare bathroom)?

I felt so much better when I put the photo of you away.
