I have a number of Schiit products and they all have the power switch on the back. Though I don't know for sure, I suspect there are two main reasons they do that. One is that it minimizes the amount of AC wiring that runs inside a unit. That helps keep 50/60 Hz noise down a bit. Also, one of the reasons for the great value of Schiit products is manufacturing efficiency. That means that lots of parts, design work and manufacturing/assembly steps are shared among the various products they make.
Most other audio manufacturers, including many with very low measured noise levels, manage to put a power switch on the front.
...don't buy their products!
I like the Midgard, which is the only one of their products I own. I am still wondering why they want their power switches in the back. I'll ask the company.
