I'm a long-timer here at AA (both kinds actually ...er...) and for past few months a Stax enthusiast (albeit with decades-old Lambda Pro and the SRM-1 Mk. II amp) Very cool stuff. I look forward to seeing the discussions here on AA. Like many of you who already reported, I was driven to headphone use by the family objecting to my noise and/or me trying to drown out theirs :)

Recently became a Stax user with SR-007mk2 and SRM-007tII. Really enjoying the move to electrostatic phones. It took a bit to get used to it though as I have used dynamic headphones all my life.

I've still got my Lambda Pro III and SRM-i/Mk II amp as well. The amp needs servicing, but the cans just need new foam. I also have a pair of SR 303s which are very similar in sound. Love Stax headphones.

I've had the same set for decades as well. Do you use them for orchestral (acoustic) music? I struggle with the image - all kinds of distractions (I'm not that fussy). Fine for rock, etc. Also, I had to replace the headset to eliminate a low level noise in one of the channels. Was surprised that it was the headset, not the amp.
