I still can't understand the peculiarly American practice of installing hi-fi in a garage!Garages are generally places to store cars, workbench, tools, junk, etc and never used as a recreational place. They are (or really should be) uncomfortable, dirty workplaces visited when necessary to find or fix something.
The nearest thing to hi-fi in any garage I've ever seen might be an old radio covered in dust but able to provide a little noise while fixing something or tidying up the garage if this takes more than a few minutes.
There are places for hi-fi but surely not in the garage. Better (though still surely a nonsense) maybe to install a secondary system in the bathroom - most people spend far more time there than in their garage?
Or do some people use their garages to escape from their Other Half, or does their Other Half send them there for the sake of marital harmony? Better to go fishing perhaps than be stuck in a garage? ;-)

or ear pod to listen to music wherever/whenever they choose to or can.
Setting up anything resembling a "system" better than say, a Bose box (not knocking that)
usually requires more time and effort than financial investment in getting more satisfying
or enjoyable sound reproduction.
THAT'S the sign of a true "audiophile" BTW, the time, energy and dedication
involved in listening, not the financial expense.

Some folks use their garage for storage and stuff them full of junk while parking their cars in the driveway and on the street. Others park their cars in the garage along with a few gardening supplies and tools. My garage is not that well kept but here in Colorado the the cars collect several inches of snow. Snow and dirt on the tires get packed under the wheel wells and eventually melt onto the garage floor as mud.The garage is basically a multipurpose room and you use it as you see fit. As nice and tidy as E-Stat's garage is, I don't understand the need for a pair of stereo speakers unless he somehow faces them and sits in the sweet spot while working on his vehicles ;-) I have one lone powered speaker in my garage. At 80-Watts RMS it does a fine job for the little amount of time I spend out there.

The space in front of the gray Subaru would fit a 3rd car but instead has a workbench, tools, shelving, and a 2nd freezer for
food items (a COVID-19 era purchase). And the powered speaker.

Full range stereo does make a difference even when I'm checking fluids, cleaning or vacuuming. Especially with old friends that take me back fifty years. ;)

The place is full of garden equipment, a food freezer, non-perishable food supplies, and a massive amount of hoarded junk my wife refuses to get rid of.
At our ages down-sizing is inevitable in just a few year -- then of necessity there will be huge purge. There will be anger and tears shed.

NOT the 51st state, eh!?!
...-and a massive amount of hoarded junk my wife refuses to get rid of.
That's how my wife's parents garage looks. They are in the process of moving and we along with other family members have been helping them thin the herd of junk. One thing we found, however, was a small bag of birdseed used at our wedding 39 years ago!
I love your choice of ceiling and wall finishes!
Very post-modern/industrial.

Thanks!
"Very post-modern/industrial."
Practical too. No need to hunt for studs with a stud finder when I want to mount something to a wall.

you can find me there with a tall glass of tea filled with ice!

Actually, wifey enjoys the TV in the bathroom while she gets ready in the morning. Since it has a Roku, it *can* also access the media server and play music.
From pictures you've posted, it seems you live in a downtown high-rise flat. Our home is in a quiet golf neighborhood where many folks ride around in carts. The garage is perpendicular to the street so not really visible to those who pass by. Very different environments.
I just like listening to music wherever I may be. The Advents take me back to when I first had a pair at age 15. :)

"Better to go fishing perhaps"
I'd rather have a hifi system in the garage than go fishing. What a waste of time and money. Fish is cheap. Fishing is expensive.

Fishing is a calling. It takes you to a place I'd much rather be, in touch with nature and your surrounding environment. I see new and amazing things every time I launch my boat
Fishing is for fun, not for fish, which should be put back.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Should be put back-
I pretty much agree on some species, but don't you think that is up to the angler that caught it and the laws pertaining to that species?
