A receiver or amp and preamp?
For a receiver, you should have a subwoofer RCA output.
For an amp, you'd want to use the speaker connections.
Or with a preamp, you'd use the output to the amp, either using the second outputs or via a y-cable.

Hi Paul, Klipschsubs in the past use a BASH amp that is sold at Parts Express. I have one I fixed myself. The volume control and frequency control look like they came out of a Crackerjack box. They look like a 10 cent part. You can lube those up or better replace them with better pots. So far this has worked for my sub and my friends MK sub.Better pots might solve the problem. My friends MK sub amp also used ultra cheap pots. Some of the best pots you can buy are at Goldpoint.I use them in my preamp.Other than the controls on the BASH amp it has run like a champ for over 15 years. Take care...-. Mark Korda
