Well actually, we just improved the Threads view that looks exactly like the Classic view, but gives you more.
With a lot of help from The Killer Piglet, we've added the option to mark threads as read on the fly. We've also greatly improved the UI to display your visited links using any other browser or PC, tablet or phone. Our server maintains your read messages, so you'll know what you've read on any platform.
You'll can also view the indexes by Date like it is now or select Update to sort the index for the newest posts.
Give it a try.

First time viewing Digital was a bit confusing as close to the top is a 2010 thread. Not sure I need to keep up with responses made fifteen years later. :)
It is odd when someone finds some old post and responds.
If you prefer and I often just and to see the new posts by date, just select to sort by Date.
It's in the header: Sort: Date

It seems that that thread has picked up some older posts related to an older thread.
The new post was recent:
RE: Mea culpa! I was thinking of another hall in Texas! - johngladneyproffitt 10:51:59 03/22/25
Select Date and you go back to the old Classic view. With Update, you see the newest posts in any thread.

. . . on a particular topic, and neither inmate wants to "give up", that thread is always going to remain at or near the top in that particular forum (Inmate Central, anyone?). ;-)
That. Is. So. Awesome! I've always used the same device so I can see what I've already read. Now I'm free to check anytime, anywhere!
Regards,
Steve

In any case, thanks to both you and Killer Piglet for the improvements!
I wonder if some of the AI bots have gone away.
I've had to update our firewalls and ban bots for several months. Recently, the site was getting hits from Alibaba IPs from multiple various Class C IP groups causing us to get 40 or 50 pages continually faster than we could keep up so everything is slow. I also see similar issues from Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon and others. Some may be using cloud users and some are the major AI players.
If I'm getting hit, I know everyone is getting hit. The Times has gone after the AI bots as well and is going after them for stealing their intellectual property. I agree with them. Why should we give the bots our IP for free while they're not giving us anything to pay for our costs and having to deal with the degradation of our site.

Oops! It's the computer in the other room that has the 2.5 gb connection - this one only has a paltry 1 gb connection. ;-)
Abe will quickly tell you that you are completely wrong thinking you benefit at all. ;)
. . . was very supportive of my 2.5 gb bragging rights in the original thread - actual benefits or not! ;-)
he was an aho to me .
Go figure!
Oh, I forgot this is an audiophile forum where facts very frequently give way to myths ;-)

Although, as Ms. CfL likes to remind me, a lot of my humor is related to pressing people's buttons - which she doesn't like when she's the object of my humor. (But it's gentle humor, and I'm always laughing WITH them - LOL!)
post that "speed is addictive" moving to 1000/1000 vs my previous 100/10 where the differences in each were obvious . And cheaper at $60+tax/month than before!
