I am going to say something that will make you want to throttle me.
Cleveland. Severance Hall. Row K. Center. 20+ years.
Not quite, but almost pennies to the dollar of those prices, and, the Clevelanders have a much more robust subscription season, correct? Does the NY Phil stage opera en concerts?
Let's talk about monthly rent next, shall we?
OK, I'll stop!!

Of interest. The average ticket price for the Berlin Phil depending on the Euro is $110 -ranging from 20$ to $350 .Hence my gripe with NYPO prices...And their recent renovations were paid by a mix private donors and NYC grants....The lowest price at the NYPO is $275 at their site for the Shostakovich concerts by Slatkin.
I'm from Long Island. I hear ya. My dad is also a native NY'er.
We congratulate each other: there are two types of New Yorkers. Those who like to stay, and those who have to go.
Both of us are total latter. "Take what you can carry and run" for me = NY success story.
If I was wealthy, I mean wealthy, what a treat it would be.
But if you're ever in Cleveland... for the price of a simple cup of coffee...
Ok, not that cheap. But row K is much more in line with those tasty Euro prices. I was a germanophile in college and I've never been. A year in Berlin? Oh my.
Now that's when I wish I had money :)
