SNACK was my first concert. The Dead's set was actually billed as Jerry Garcia & Friends, as the Dead were officially on hiatus at the time, but it was pretty much the Dead. They previewed songs from their yet to be released Blues for Allah, which together with Wake of the Flood are my two favorite Dead albums.
ps- I have the poster from that concert, by the great Randy Tuten.
this CD set released in Europe.
Broadcast performances of many shows are now available as such.
Decent SQ, worth having.
What a great day it was! No Eddie Palmieri set or Graham Central
Station on the CD. Nor the spoken word stuffs.
Agree about those two UA Dead LPs!

My buddy and I were seniors in high school and attending our first "real" concert. We took his dad's '59 Ford station wagon- it wasn't retro or vintage at the time, just a 16 year old family car! I remember being just wide-eyed and awestruck the whole day, start to finish. It wasn't long before we became Winterland regulars.
ps- 50th anniversary of that concert coming up. I need to take a moment and let that sink in.
