I glad to see you expand your sense of allowable expenditures, not everyone is in the same situation as you and me, and that's a good thing as they're more likely to create jobs than you or me.
A collectible like that is worth more if you leave it sealed in the box.

Yeah, I can't remember the last time when I paid people to work. Well, except when I paid that guy to install a toilet. That cost me $200 (plus the toilet). And, when I contracted a couple of people to present computer classes for me. (Sorry if I "created" jobs!)
And, the last time the staff prepared dinner for me and my crew before the concert.
Oh, and, keeping all of my houses in tip-top shape. Thanks! "Love, Oprah".

Yea but no matter who spends that money it creates jobs. Give it to a thousand people in a community and the community benefits as do the people who supply products and services to the community.
Money begets money. I have no problem with a wealthy person buying a yacht/ship but thinking that somehow creates more jobs or benefits to society than a neighborhood or community spending that much money is what I disagree with. It's all good.
I'm OK with wretched excess as there's money trickling into many pockets. If a $1M stereo is your budget, cool. Do it.
Stereo.
Any rich person can buy a boat, but can they put together a decent sound system?

Yes. With the right $. Except for the few who have true integrity. Thinking of you, Doug Schneider.
They can hire people to do that.
What fun is that???
That's just shopping, ANYONE can do that - just on different scales.
