A/B test betw original mat and the spot mat should be short and sweet. My jammin' buddy, whose Technics SL-D2 we recommmissioned, was spinning records when I got to his house with the spot mat. He listend to it for about 10 sec in place of the stock mat and said, "Amazing. I'm never going back (to the stock mat)." It's when you start playing with different spot configurations that it gets crazy. The spot mat I sent to OD was the keeper of the protos I'd played with...so far :-)
Sorry 'bout the date, man. Hope she enjoys the improvement. My wife, who's pretty used to this stuff, joined me around side 2 of Dononvan's Greatest Hits. She couldn't help a few times expressing a spontaneous, "Wow".
Regards,
Jim
