***** be closer to finding the vinyl set-up you like, or knowing you dont like vinyl.*************I collect vinyl and enjoy a massive collection of great vinyl music. Even if my CD player does sound better than my analog, I will continue to listen to vinyl. There is just way too much great music on vinyl.
I did say that my CDP is ahead of the game at the moment. This doesnt mean that my vinyl sounds terrible! It sounds great. I really enjoy listening to albums on my system.
Now, after about a year I've pulled my CD player out due to the fact that I have no cartridge...So I'm playing my CD's and am quite surprised at how good things sound.
How exactly?
1. There is almost no background noise. Digital is dead quiet.(almost spooky after such a long stay with analog)
2. Along with this black background, (quiet) the imaging is STUNNING.
3. No pops and clicks. Lets face it, vinyl pops and clicks no matter how careful you are.(please dont flame me on this, if your vinyl is perfect..good for you)
4. Nice SMOOTH round sound. My current analog setup is brighter than my CDP. Yes I know it should be the other way around, but it isnt. My vinyl setup is slightly thin sounding compared to my CDP.Could it be my setup? Yep. Am I dont trying to fix this? nope... We'll see how it turns out. But for now, CD is in first place in my home.
