Yup.

A collection of 2500 records fairly valued at $40 each isn't an inheritance it's a job. And some $100,000 audio system isn't going to get a fraction of what someone paid for unless someone is hired to sell if for the wife or kids and it'll end up covering about a months rent or a mortgage payment in the end.

As far as records go I've completely enjoyed building and maintaining my collection and for the most part they've been worth the money I've spent on them. Ie. I've already broke even on the deal. I'd rather get them into the hands of music lovers and record collectors who will enjoy them as much as I do as opposed to flippers or people who have lots of money to pay big bucks over what I originally paid for them. I would rather donate them to my favorite local dealers than sell them to wealthy people or flippers who'll do exactly what I don't want to do. Bottom line when/if I sell them it'll be about what I paid for them or less.
