It seems MM cartridges are dismissed just because MC cartridges are in. Plus the comparison at the very top is basically unfair. Who makes a 5 figure MM to compare to the top MC ones?

I still use some old MM cartridges including a V15 V with Jico stylus and a Technics EPC 100 MK4 with characteristics that many an MC would admire such as flat response to 80 kHz Many of the great recording engineers of the 1980s used it. Technics never brought it to the USA because of the MC bias that had developed by then knowing no audiophile would buy a $500 MM cartridge.
