Hi
I built a very good sounding system using the Newform ribbon and a 6.5" Dynaudio woofer. I used a simple crossover. A 6db/octave hi/lo pass. Used 1 large poly cap and a Chattereu air coil. Can't remember values but the cap was large around 18-20uf. Xover was around 3khz. Simple was better as I tried various xover configurations, and frequencys. Air and transparency was much better using 6db slopes at 3khz. You need faster slopes if you want to cross the ribbon over lower. I wouldn't reccomend any lower than 1khz at at least 12 db/oct. It sound4ed much more relaxed and open at 3khz.
I tried some powered woofers below 100 hz to give more low end, but it sounded better and more integrated with just the ribbon/Dynaudio.
