Given the relative similarity of the room, I would go with whichever will give the most symetrical layout for the equipment.
This will at least leave the sound balanced one side to the other.
Then you can start with the room treatments be it live end/dead end, bass traps, 1st reflections etc.
Even in a reletively small room, you can get a very enjoyable sound with a bit of inspiration/perspiration.
