Not a true mod, but I am about to pickup a pair of used CS2.3's and rewire the speakers with some 13AWG litz wire. I am going to take the opportunity to wire the drivers directly to the binding posts, taking the crossovers out of the equation. I will be using the TACT RCS to attentuate the freq response as necessary, but using the natural slope of the drivers for integration. Listening without the crossovers will be more of an experiment that anything else. I am just curious to know how these speakers measure and sound without crossovers.
Unless I am just thrilled with the sound I am planning on putting the crossovers back in the circuit after some extended listening. If any other inmates have experience with similar experiments, I'd like to hear your results.
