Hi,After measuring and hearing my CDP (with PMD100 digital filter) and a DAC without any digital filter, I am trying to find ways to either bypass, or replace it with a better filter.
A while back PartsConnection made a B-B DF1704 that can be used to replace PMD100 in their Assemblage DAC3.0. Unfortunately a contact with them found that they no longer has it. I guess they did an adapter board to make DF1704 fits as these two chips are NOT pin-to-pin compatible.
Any suggestions on what I can do to either bypass or replace PMD100?
This stupid chip default to regular digital filter when HDCD code is not present. I can't find a way to command it to simply send out unfiltered 20-bit data. The dreadful time-domain ringing caused by the FIR filter inside this (and most digital filter) was to be seen to believe.
Cheers.
Ehien
