Wow, that's a wierd problem. How about something like heavy screen around the bottom, or even chicken wire? You could probably electrify it if you had to! Ejoythemusic.com has a nice DIY rack, but they seem to be down right now. Simple MDF shelves connected with threaded rod. Solid as a rock, and cheap at Home Depot.
