I personally think (and this may be wrong but seems logical to me) that they (electro caps) aren't much of a problem when they are in parallel as part of a 2nd or higher order low pass, and that in series as part of any high pass they are a much more serious concern. The series components are the most reactive part of the circuit aren't they?There are huge variations in terms of build quality, tolerance ratings, etc between all components. If you can get a good brand of very accurate and high quality electros, surely that's better than using generic mass production polyester mkt's or something (although many of them seem to have great specs, just don't seem available in very high values.).
