since I had a few around from my amp repair kit. The issue is that I need a 12v wall wart, the need to hook something more complicated than my 1 resistor scheme, and voiding warranty on any units I modify. The thing is with the voltage drop of the wall wart from 9v to 6v with the insertion of a 10 kohm resistor, does that mean the input impedence to the trigger input is 20kohm? I know the voltage divider concept with the middle leg to ground since that is commonly used, but I don't recall how this scheme worked. I measured input resistance with a DMM and it gave me >30mohm. College physics is a long way back and these less used stuff are forgotten.
