Re: Cleaning 10yrs of grunge from connections... what to use?

Howdy again,
You'll more than likely get several responses to this. Most of the products you named all are good in their own right. If your goods are not gold-plated (most AC male plugs for example)Flitz seems to be a popular choice. This gets them nice and shiny, removes alot of junk. It can remove gold plating, so be careful what you use it on. Caig stuff is great too, use De-Oxit for the initial cleaning, then the pro-gold as an conductivity enhancer. Personally I use XLO TPC wipes. Why you ask? Well, when you're unsure of things like you are in this instance, go with products that dont set you back alot of change. That way if you're not happy with the performance, no harm done. The Flitz polish can be found at many hardware stores at a reasonable price. The XLO TPC wipes are a whopping $1 dollar each. The Caig stuff is recommended by ALOT of high-end manufacturers, so they must me pretty darn good (Mapleshade, Silver Audio, Harmonic Tech, etc) but it also costs more. Done rambling, best of luck!
