I recently gave my son my old Sony Pro Logic receiver which was working fine, it now makes noise (signal meters jump)when you touch or move unit and shuts down (protection circuit). At times it works fine, he lives in an older college duplex with probably old wiring (all 2 prong outlets). The receiver unit is plugged into a low cost surge protector, we unhooked all connections (inputs, speakers) to receiver and ran to a different wall plug with same results. He has also had turntable hum and PC monitor problems in a different room, I brought the monitor home and it is working fine. Could this be related to house power, any ideas on problem or possible solution?, Thanks
