regarding tolerances - there was no way to get them into the openings without taking away material. And it wasn't even the same amount between the two outlets. I had to cut considerably more off the outside plug to get it in, and I used a lot of force to press them in, trying to minimize the amount of plastic to remove from the outlets.as for an oscilloscope - don't have one, and probably would get zapped using one on the AC line ;)
