usually if it's ultrasonic oscillation (most likely) you will not be able to hear it for it might go as far as several hundreds of kHz or somewhere into the MHz region.W/o high freq. oscilloscopes and the skill to diagnose, you may not be able to find out the trouble.
Just my subjective observation in this subject. YMMV
