yes, check where the cable actually comes in to the building.... it should be grounded there BY CODE!having a surge caused by lightning has nothing to do with a Ground-Loop.... Ground loop is voltage potential accross dissimilar grounds and will be there (if you have a noticeable one) with a surge or not!
