Did my cable guy forget something????

I had my cable reconnected recently. This morning, I happened to look at the inlet and noticed that the cable guy installed a new splitter and did not connect the ground wire to the new splitter. Seems to me I'm asking for the mother of all ground loops next time there's a lighning storm. Shouldn't the splitter be gounded, it does have a ground screw?
