Too bad you aren't getting a consistent answer here. I posed the same question and ultimately did this:Replaced the 47 mfd cap with a high quality black gate (NX HiQ) for about $2.50 each. I then bypassed that cap with a .022 mfd Sequa Paper in oil type (about $6 each).
It really depends on your goal here. If you are trying to tame the brightness of a CDP, then a black gate will only improve the bass and detail, but not a huge improvement in the high end. I have found that oil caps on CDP outputs really calm down the digital brightness factor.
If you know the input impedance of your preamp, you can calculate the various cap sizes and their effect on the low end response. This is simple math, no mystery. You can use this calculator:
