In Reply to: For coupling, to replace a electrolytic with a plastic, how small can I go. posted by Coyote on August 19, 2002 at 18:10:53:
Replacing 47uF w/ 33uF is barely acceptable but your endeavour aims at cutting it down to 1/10 of it's original value? everything in there is going to change in a dramatic manner.Mind you though: inside the CDP the final OP amp section also contains a frequency correction network, sometimes it's passive and situated just before the input of the OP amp section. IF you do not replace any or all of those electrolytic caps in the filter with exact values your freq. will run away like crazy.
Try something like Cerafines or BG caps if you want small size yet big capacitance.
Just my thoughts on the subject. YMMV
