I would stick to the Weller. I have both a Weller LED readout iron (very expensive) and a standard (old fashioned) Weller. Both work very well. You don't need an LED readout, it is almost meaningless in practice. I prefer the Weller without the readout, BUT I can also change the soldering tips for the job at hand, and Weller has tip outlets all over the place. Just today, I bought a special tip for my old Weller. It looks almost like a needle point. I have to do some surface mount soldering and I had to buy a special tip, but I can also use a heavy tip for big wires with the same iron. This works for me.
