old now and I haven't made a shielded power cord since I went commercial eighteen years ago.....As long as you don't wrap your interconnects around the power cord you will be fine. Keep in mind that the neutral is ground and your twisted pair (line and neutral) will give you some self-shielding as well.....Good tinned braid is expensive so save it for the phono or long interconnect project....
