What exactly do you mean by 'twisting the lead wires'?

They are actually the same value (470uf), but they are 35v Elna Silmics rather than 16v bog-standard Elnas. I'm using them (hopefully!) because I have them. Marantz used Silmics as output coupling caps and Cerafines for the op-amps in the filter but crap ones for HDAM circuits. These are Marantz home-brew buffer stages made out of discrete components, enclosed in metal boxes. They squeezed the caps in between the boxes and my big Silmics won't fit unless the cans overlap the metal boxes and to do that they bu 1/2 inch clear of the PCB! (Obviously I'll shield the leads!)

I could remove the output caps (and I probably will anyway) and use those. They'll fit perfectly but they are 220uF Silmics so I'd be halving the value. This may not matter. Those are my two options (three if you include leaving the originals in).
