Hi,
those B+Ws need to be moved - what you are getting is corner reinforcement, and so comb filtering of the LF in addition to room modes. The B+W manual should be fairly clear about placement - what I would suggest is 1/3 of the way into the room (on the longest dimension), and around 1 meter from the side walls. That should help some.
Then play with toe-in. The B+Ws are designed to be listened to 'off axis' i.e firing straight ahead or extremely toed in (similar to the current set up), but this is due in part to the low quality of parts in the crossover (the inductors are ok, but the resistors are junk, and the caps should be nowhere near audio!).
If they were firing straight ahead, you would then only have the first reflection to deal with from the side walls - and that is fairly easy.
Also, as this is a loft conversion, have you thought about inserting a couple of decorative baffled air vents into the eaves space to act as ARU units - this would be a quick way to tidy up the bass response of the room without large bass traps..
Just some thoughts
Owen
